Football fans in Malawi will be flocking to different football stadiums from this Saturday as the K90 million TNM Super League will be back this weekend with some interesting fixtures.
Fresh from their 2-0 win against their traditional rivals in the Chifundo Shield Cup, Nyasa Big Bullets will take on Moyale Barracks at Kamuzu Stadium in Blantyre to officially launch this year’s Super League season campaign on the opening day.
In other games set for Saturday, two Malawi Defence Force teams Mafco FC and Kamuzu Barracks will take on Mzuni FC and Civo United respectively.
Come Sunday, the Nomads will be in a tricky fixture as the Super League has assigned them to take on Silver Strikers at Silver Stadium in Lilongwe to mark the start of their 2016 Super League campaign.
Speaking ahead of the start of the 2016 Super League season, Silver Strikers coach Lovemore Fazili said his boys are ready for the new season and he has a youthful squad which is capable of winning trophies.
In other matches that will be played on Sunday, newly promoted Southern region 2015 champions Max Bullets will kick-start their season with a visit to Kamuzu Stadium where they will be in a titanic battle with Azam Tigers.
On the same day, Dwangwa United will announce their return to Malawi elite league when they face Blue Eagles at Chitowe community ground, whereas Red Lions will start their season with a game against Epac FC at Balaka stadium.
