Armed robbers have stolen huge sums of money and injured security personnel at Luchenza Admarc depot in Thyolo district.
According to information sourced by this publication, the robbers who were twenty in number arrived at the depot during the wee hours of Sunday and managed to deal with the guard on duty.
They then broke into the cashier’s office where they stole money which was proceeds of the day’s maize sales.
Admarc officials are yet to disclose the actual amount of money that has been stolen from the depot.
Meanwhile, communities around the depot are said to be living in fear following the incident that almost led to a loss of life for the guard.
