Malawi national football team Coach Ernest Mtawali will on Friday name the squad to play Guinea in the back to back qualifying matches in the African Cup of Nations 2017 qualifiers .
Mtawali said this at Chiwembe Technical Centre in Blantyre where the team is camping to prepare for the must win games.
Mtawali told this publication that Malawians will know on Friday the full squad that will travel to Guinea adding that the squad will include over nine local based players who are doing well in the preparations during training.
“I thank our governing body for giving us more time to equip ourselves, and the players have been performing nicely which is giving us a good expectation, so yah come Friday we will name the final squad,” Mtawali said.
The Flames coach said they plan to play against Malawi Armed Force College (MAFCO) in a friendly game because the team consists of players with stamina, the same calibre of plays they will face when playing against Guinea.
Flames will play against Sierra Leone in a friendly match on March 22 before meeting Syli nationale (national elephant) of Guinea a few days later.
