Former coach for the now disbanded Surestream Football Academy Honest Nkhwazi has opened a football academy in Kasungu district.

According to Nkhwazi, the academy which is called Chisomo Football Academy has already been registered with Football Association of Malawi (FAM).
Nkhwazi said the academy has been established in response to parents’ wishes for their children to actively participate in soccer in the country.
He said he is using his resources to run the academy but is currently seeking financial assistance from individuals and organisations.
FAM general secretary Suzgo Nyirenda welcomed the establishment of the new academy saying his organisation became aware of it from the start.
He however said the governing body will be monitoring the academy to make sure it is being run in accordance with Fam policies.
The academy which is using Kasungu Police ground has so far registered 100 students in under 11, 13, 15 and 19 categories.
