A match between relegated super league sides, Dedza Young Soccer and Airborne Rangers is likely not to take place tomorrow with reports showing the Soccer Saints have sought a court injunction restraining its fixture against the Salima based soldiers and the entire play offs.

Dedza has been protesting against the decision by the Super League of Malawi (Sulom) that the three relegated teams in the 2015 Super League season will be involved in play offs in order to have 16 teams in the 2016 league season.

Dedza Young Soccer: Intend to boycott play offs.

The injunction stopped Sulom from holding the matches but Wizards played Airborne on Friday.

Reports show that the Dedza side intends to boycott the match it has tomorrow.

Sulom is yet to make a statement on the matter.

Dedza claimed that  Sulom did not take a proper decision to announce at a late time about the play offs indicated that it would relegate only two clubs in the 2015-16 season and bring in three to fulfil their plans of having 16 teams starting from the 2016 soccer season.

Sulom statuses, in Article 16 state that three bottom teams are relegated to the lower leagues, with three teams getting promotion from the lower leagues to the main league.

As per mandated by the new guidelines adopted in November, 16 teams are supposed to be in the 2016 Super League, forcing Sulom to use play offs in order to have the 16th team.

An initial match between Wizards F.C and Airborne Rangers saw the Blantyre based side win 2-1 with goals from Bernard Chimaimba and  Patrick Phiri with the consolation goal by Stain Malawi on the side of Airborne.
