Kachaje: Children need care.

Economic Association of Malawi (Ecama) President Henry Kachaje has urged parents to be responsible for their children’s well-being by giving them breakfast before they go to school.

Kachaje said some parents run away from their responsibility of providing food to the children with the idea that the school will provide porridge to the students.

He said that parents are supposed to be responsible by making sure that their children are not going to school on an empty stomach.

Kachaje also urged the parents to show responsibility since their children depend on them.

“Government has no responsibility for the children as such us parents should be more responsible for the children’s education and health,” he was quoted by local press.

He also said that parents are supposed to advise their children to have a small number of kids when they grow up. Malawian children especially those in rural areas depend on a program run by Mary’s Meals which provide porridge to students on every school day.
