Ngwira: Causing the unrest.

Some supporters of Peoples Party (PP) marched to media houses based in Mzuzu to protest their party’s decision to fire former provincial chairperson for the North Christopher Mzomera Ngwira.

Speaking to the media, one of the organisers of the march, Clive Nthakomwa said the demonstrations were aimed at asking the media to warn the party’s president Joyce Banda that firing Ngwira will not solve problems in the party.

He explained that the leaders are cheating themselves by removing Ngwira because the supporters still recognise him as the provincial chairperson for PP. He however criticized the party for firing people instead of uniting them.

“What kind of leaders fire people instead of uniting them. That is the problem of leaders who were appointed through phones,” Nthakomwa said.

Commenting on the issue, PP publicist Ken Msonda claimed that the people’s demands will not change anything.
