Malawi football powerhouses  Mighty Wanderers and Big Bullets will renew their rivalry in April this year when the two teams meet in the National Shield Cup at a venue to be announced soon.

Football Association of Malawi (FAM) competitions Manager Gomezgani Zakazaka told one of the media houses that the two Blantyre based sides will meet in April.

“We have arranged a football cup match between Wanderers and Big Bullets in April to mark the opening of the 2016 Malawi elite league season,” said Zakazaka.

Zakazaka added that the two teams were selected considering that they won major national trophies in Malawi.

“Wanderers and Bullets have been selected to play in the National shield cup considering that they won the Carlsberg cup and Super league respectively in the 2015 Malawi footballing season, Zakazaka said.

The National Shield cup will be the first match between Carlsberg Cup champions Wanderers and Super League champions Big Bullets this year.
