Malawi super league side Mighty Wanderers are looking forward to a sponsorship renewal with Be Forward having enjoyed a year of financial assistance from the Japanese company.

The Blantyre based side clinched a K70 million per year sponsorship deal at the beginning of the 2015 Super League season. As per agreement, the deal is supposed to be renewed every year.

The nomads had an average season having claimed a single silverware out of possible three, contrary to their dream of winning all prestigious trophies local football can provide. Average performances in the flagship league last season raised fears about losing sponsorship on the part of supporters.

There were rumor that the Japanese Second hand car dealers are planning to pull out from sponsoring the Lali Lubani boys.

However, Wanderers general secretary, Mike Butao has hinted that they will be making an announcement about the new deal, soon.

In an interview with a local radio station, he said that it is now too early to talk about the matter.

Despite not performing to supporters’ satisfaction, the Lali Lubani boys managed to enjoy prizes from all competitions having won the Carlsberg Cup, finished second in the Standard Bank Cup and finished fourth in the League.

Supporters are still in the dark as to whether Be Forward will renew or terminate their annual agreement. In all likelihood, Nomads followers fear for the worst, however the Japanese second hand car dealers have not expressed any form of dissatisfaction with the deal.

The Blantyre giants plan to boost their squad so that they can be in a better position to achieve big in the forthcoming football season. Signing new players is part of their plans, thus the need to push for release of funds from their financial masters.
