Malawians back Lucius Banda’s decision to end show over homosexual acts

Veteran musician Lucius Banda has proved to have more partners in values and beliefs following many salutes than criticisms he has received for the premature conclusion of his show over homosexual acts at Zitherepano.

Banda whose counter-stand against same sex acts has remained firm as a politician, expressed a duplicate of his position as an artist on Christmas day, much to the satisfaction of Malawians as evidenced by comments supporting his behaviour.

While drawing reference from both religion and culture, many have backed up Soldier for listening to the voice of virtue.

However a minority maintains Banda’s move is not justifiable and that judging others because they sin differently also contradicts with the same religion and culture.

A cross-section of Facebook users on the artist’s Facebook page expressed support which bears handclaps and a standing ovation for the artist.

Akin to this, from over 400 comments on a story on the matter carried out by this publication yesterday, most of the comments are in tandem with Banda’s beliefs. Reports indicate that the entertainer wanted to have the two men who were kissing and cuddling near his stage, arrested.

However, a lift of laws that would see same-sex partners getting any punishment in Malawi made it a mission impossible. It has been revealed that those who were involved in the homosexual acts were at the back but had to force their way to the front in a bid to expose themselves.

It is not yet clear as to what the reaction was from the audience.

The response by Malawians indicates that the country is not ready to embrace acts of gays which are being imposed on Malawi by Western nations as a condition for restoring long lost donor support.
