Malawi Police in Neno have arrested three men on allegations that they vandalized a railway line in the district.
The suspects have been identified by police as John Nicolus and Ishmael Ntentha both 25 years of age as well as Master Moses who is aged 28.
Confirming the development, deputy Spokesperson for Southern Region police headquarters Widson Nhlane said the incident happened on 6 October this year.
Nhlane said the suspects went to the railway line where they removed metal bars valued at K38, 700.
“As they were going to sell the items, they were caught by community policing members who took them to Zalewa police unit and the recovery of items was made,” said Nhlane.
The three suspects hail from Nkundika village, traditional authority Semeon in Neno district and will appear before court soon.
