With the Malawi national football team, gearing up for the first leg of preliminary rounds of 2018 Russia World Cup qualifier tomorrow in Dar-essalam, they will have the duo of Mbwana Samattha and Thomas Ulimwengu to contain.

Samattha who is currently TP Mazembe’s talisman, is coming straight from claiming a brace as he found the net twice in the second leg of the CAF Champions League encounter against Sudanese side, Elmereikh.

Ulimwengu: Man to watch.

Ulimwengu was on target for Mazembe in the first leg of the semifinal away in Sudan, however it was too little two late as his side went down 2-1.

The duo played an instrumental role in helping the DR Congo side progress to the final of the continental showpiece.

Although Ulimwengu did not find the back of the net during the second leg, his effort could still be felt having come in as a second half substitute.

The new look Flames have an uphill to climb after the media in Tanzania has reported about the rich talent and experience in their squad. Malawi’s coach Earnest Mtawali is upbeat for a desirable fruit despite the news.

The match starts at 3 pm local time and it will be beamed live by Supersport 7.
