Malawi’s Minister of Agriculture Dr. Allan Chiyembekeza will tomorrow pay an official visit to Chambo Fisheries to appreciate how the country’s largest commercial farm is contributing towards aquaculture in the country.
According to Chambo Fisheries Chief Executive Officer, Muhammed Ismail Aboo, among other things, Chiyembekeza whose visit will start from 14 00 hrs will also learn how Chambo Fisheries has created employment for locals.
The farm is situated along the Thyolo Road just before Chigumula.
Initially, Aboo told Malawi24 that at the moment the farm realizes 800 tons of fish a year with plans to increase in the years to come.
The farm which makes the fish ready after 168 days, is selling out the fish to leading restaurants in town like Superior Halaal as well as Crazy Foods.
