Two goals from Peter Wadabwa and Green Harawa in the first and second half were enough to help Malawi capital city side, Silver Strikers beat Dedza Young Soccer Saints 2-1 at Silver stadium on Sunday.

Silver Strikers started the first half on an impressive note knowing that a win against Dedza will push them to position three on the log table of Malawi’s elite league.

Silver Strikers pushed for an early goal from the start of the first second of the game and they kept on pressurizing the boys from Dedza with excellent passing football and it was Peter Wadabwa who scored for Silver Strikers to make it 1 nil.

After that goal Dedza Young Soccer started playing some marvelous passing football which started from their midfielders going up front but Silver Strikers was Solid in defense and they did not allow Dedza Young Soccer to score an equalizing goal.

The first half ended 1 nil in favor of Silver Strikers. Silver Strikers were forced to do an early substitution when Silver Strikers defender Lucky Malata was substituted after he sustain an injury and got replaced by Mike Ntonya in the 32nd minute of the first half.

Come the second half of the game both teams started with serious intensity as they were in search of goals in the early minutes of the game.

Henry Misinjo and captain Chisomo Mpachika did all they could do to help Dedza Young Soccer to level the scoreline as they were feeding their strikers with excellent balls in front but Blessings Kameza the Bankers goaltender denied Dedza strikers to score with some good saves.

As Dedza Young Soccer were still in search for their most important goal a that could have level the scores 1-1 it was the central bankers again who scored another goal through Green Harawa who made it 2-0 in favour of Silver strikers.

As the match was going to an end Dedza Young Soccer scored their consolation goal and the game ended 2-1 in favour of Silver Strikers.

This win has push Silver Strikers to position 3 on the log table and are now tied on points (both 29) with second places Blue Eagles who have a good goal advantage difference with the Bankers.
