Locomotive Driver Training Programme (50 positions)

On behalf of our client, we invite applications from suitably qualified, motivated and technically inclined young Malawians to join our Locomotive Driver Training Programme. The programme aims to develop skilled individuals who will undergo structured theoretical and practical training to become competent locomotive drivers.

We are seeking 50 enthusiastic candidates with a strong technical background, a commitment to safety and an interest in pursuing a career in railway operations.

Minimum requirements

– Be between 18 and 28 years of age.
– Possess a Malawi School Certificate of Education (MSCE) with a minimum of six (6) credits; and
– Possess at least a TEVET Level 3 Certificate and/or a Grade 1 Trade Test Certificate or City & Guilds qualification in one of the following technical fields: Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Automobile Mechanics, General Fitting, Telecommunications or Electronics.

Training programme

Successful candidates will be enrolled in a structured 12-month Locomotive Driver Training Programme, comprising theoretical instruction and practical training.

Please note: the company will not provide transport or accommodation. Successful candidates will be responsible for their own transport and accommodation arrangements throughout the training period.
