Duties and responsibilities
• Plan and execute drone missions for precision agriculture, aerial applications, mapping, surveying, inspections, surveillance and geospatial data collection.
• Conduct agricultural drone operations by accurately applying crop protection products, fertilisers, seeds and other approved treatments according to prescribed requirements.
• Capture, verify and manage aerial data to support GIS analysis, operational monitoring, asset inspections and business decision-making.
• Ensure compliance with aviation, safety, environmental and company standards, always maintaining safe operations and effective risk management.
• Maintain drone operational readiness and performance through accurate record-keeping, routine inspections and preventive maintenance.
• Promote and adhere to Illovo’s procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).

Qualifications and experience
• Diploma in GIS, Land Surveying or Agricultural Engineering (GIS preferred).
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience with GIS.
• Drone Pilot Certificate.
