The Industrial Relations Court has found that the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (Macra) breached procedure when it dismissed former Director General Daud Suleman.
This comes as in february this year MACRA Board of directors fired Suleman for undisclosed reasons
Suleman has confirmed the court’s decision to local media.
The court found that Macra was required by law to give Suleman an opportunity to be heard before terminating his employment.
However, according to the ruling, Macra did not give him the chance to present his side before he was dismissed.
The court has therefore faulted the authority for failing to follow the required procedure in handling Suleman’s dismissal.
