Malawi is quietly making a big noise on the continental stage, with a wave of home-grown stars now in the running for honours at the 2026 Zikomo Africa and Caribbean Awards.
Among the Malawians nominated is football star Temwa Chawinga, who is in contention for Best Zikomo Footballer of the Year.
Miss Malawi 2026 Ireen Navicha has also received a nomination in the Best Zikomo Model of the Year category, adding another international recognition to her growing profile.
In music, Joe Ikon has been nominated for Best Zikomo New Artist of the Year, while Zeze Kingston is competing for Best Zikomo Southern Africa Artist of the Year.
Oana has also earned a nomination for Best Zikomo Upcoming Female Artist of the Year, while Ndilira Mumvula is in the running for Best Zikomo International Collabo of the Year.
Meanwhile, Schizzo Thomson has been nominated for Best Zikomo Business Leader of the Year, with Hey You Si-Bu-Si-So receiving recognition in the Best Zikomo Amapiano Song of the Year category.
The nominations have placed Malawian talent among contenders seeking recognition at the 2026 Zikomo Africa and Caribbean Awards, which are set to take place in Tanzania.This also leaves room for additional Malawian nominees if more nominations are announced.
