The reopening marks the beginning of a new academic year for primary schools, secondary schools and teacher training colleges, which will run from September 14, 2026 to July 16, 2027.
The Ministry of Education announced the academic calendar in June, outlining a total of 40 learning weeks for the academic year.
The first term will run for 14 learning weeks from September 14 to December 18, 2026, followed by a two-week holiday.
The second term will open on January 4, 2027 and close on March 25, 2027 after 12 weeks of learning, followed by another two-week holiday.
The third term will begin on April 12, 2027 and close on July 16, 2027 after 14 weeks of learning.
