A popular TikTok personality has found himself on the wrong side of the law after police moved in over a disputed iPhone deal.
Innocent Josephy, popularly known as “iPhone Daddy,” was arrested in Lilongwe following allegations involving several people.
Josephy, 25, was arrested in Area 24, Lilongwe, after reportedly being on the run for several days following complaints from people who allegedly paid him upfront for iPhones.
According to police, Josephy, who also operates a Facebook account under the name Innocent Josephy, collected money from his social media followers after promising to supply them with iPhones.
However, police say the suspect allegedly failed to deliver the phones after receiving the payments, prompting the victims to report the matter.
Lilongwe Police Deputy Public Relations Officer Khumbo Sanyiwa has confirmed Josephy’s arrest, saying investigations into the matter are underway.
Police records further indicate that Josephy was previously arrested and taken to court in 2024 over allegations of committing similar offences.
The suspect remains in police custody and is expected to appear before court to answer the charges.
