After years of focusing on music, celebrated gospel artist Steve “Wazisomo” Muliya has turned inward to answer a deeper spiritual call, fully committing himself to ministry work through Grace Life Assembly.

Muliya founded Grace Life Assembly Ministry in 2019, and since then the ministry has been holding weekly Saturday services from 8am to 12 noon in a classroom at Mbayani Primary School in Blantyre.

On 31 January, 2026, the ministry marked a key moment when it launched its first congregation at Feed The Children Hall, behind Ndirande Police Station along Magalasi Road in the commercial city. The inaugural service attracted 96 worshippers, while attendance rose to 107 people during last Saturday’s, 7 February, prayers.

In an interview, the “Ndizotheka” hit maker admitted that he had delayed responding to his spiritual calling for years, a decision he now believes affected his personal journey.

“For a long time I knew I was called, but I kept putting it aside. Late last year I realised that neglecting the calling was actually derailing my life, and that is when I decided to take the ministry seriously,” said Muliya.

Responding on how he plans to balance music and ministry, Muliya said the two are inseparable and exist to serve the same purpose.

“Music and church ministry are one. They complement each other because both are about preaching the gospel. Through music I reach people, and through the church I disciple them,” he said.

Muliya also announced that starting this February, he will be releasing new gospel music videos at the end of every month as part of his commitment to use music as a tool for ministry.

On the vision of Grace Life Assembly, he said the ministry aims to provide hope to people through Christ using a holistic approach that addresses the whole person, body, soul, and spirit.
