Africans will have a chance to experience a story that reshaped a continent when M-Net brings the historical epic King & Conqueror to screens as part of a simultaneous launch across more than 40 countries.
This first-ever multi-territory rollout of a CANAL+-licensed series, is slated for premiere on 12 February, 2026 and positions African viewers at the center of a global entertainment event.
The eight-part British series unfolds after the death of King Edward in 1066, who left no heir to the English throne. What follows is a fierce struggle between Harold of Wessex and William of Normandy, culminating in the legendary Battle of Hastings, a clash that would define the fate of England and leave a lasting mark on European history.
King & Conqueror stars James Norton (Happy Valley, Playing Nice) and Nikolaj Coster-Waldau (Game of Thrones), supported by Emily Beecham, Clémence Poésy, Juliet Stevenson, Eddie Marsan, and Jean-Marc Barr.
The series brings together a powerhouse creative team, including creator and executive producer Michael Robert Johnson, and co-executive producers James Norton and Kitty Kaletsky for Rabbit Track Pictures, Baltasar Kormákur and Magnus Vioar for RVK Studios, and Robert Taylor for The Development Partnership. Coster-Waldau also directs alongside Baltasar Kormákur, Balint Szentgyorgyi, and Erik Leijonborg.
Waldimar Pelser, Director of Premium Channels at MultiChoice, said: “M-Net is proud to be part of this massive global content rollout, which is a first for us with CANAL+. King & Conqueror is an epic tale told with power and ambition, and we’re confident it will resonate deeply with audiences across the continent.”
The series premieres on M-Net from 12 February at 9pm CAT and will also be available on DStv Stream and Catch Up, giving viewers the flexibility to follow the dramatic battle for the English crown anytime, anywhere.
