The National Economic Empowerment Fund (NEEF) has given clients with outstanding loan balances and arrears sixty (60) days to clear their obligations.
In a statement, NEEF said the countdown starts on 6 February 2026. The Fund warned that failure to settle outstanding loan balances and arrears within the stipulated 60-day period will compel it to initiate recovery processes.
“These may include legal action and the confiscation of pledged collateral, in accordance with the terms and conditions of the respective loan agreements,” NEEF said.
NEEF has further encouraged clients whose loans are not in arrears to continue servicing them diligently to avoid defaulting and being subjected to recovery measures.
The Fund also reminded all clients that NEEF and MEDF loans are not grants, stressing that all loans disbursed by NEEF and MEDF are repayable facilities and must be honoured in full and in strict compliance with the loan agreements entered into between the Fund and its clients.
NEEF says it remains committed to economically empowering Malawians and ensuring the sustainability of its revolving fund so that more citizens can benefit from its loan facilities.
