Police in Zomba arrested a man for housebreaking and theft

Police in Zomba have arrested a 24-year-old man identified as Maxwell Sapuli for housebreaking and theft in the district.

Public Relations Officer for Zomba Police Station, Inspector Patricia Sipiliano has confirmed the arrest of Maxwell Sapuli.

Sipiliano said that on 11 September 2025 the suspect, together with his accomplice who is at large broke into the house of Mr. Dean Badcock, a Canadian, and stole various items.

She further said that the stolen items include one MacBook laptop, one Samsung Galaxy mobile phone, two large solar panels, and one set of screwdriver bits.

Following the report, an investigation was instituted by the Criminal Investigation Department (CID) that led to his arrest. 

Police have managed to recover all the stolen properties and investigations are in progress to arrest the remaining suspect.

Maxwell Sapuli comes from Chikumbeni Village in the area of Traditional Authority Chikowi in Zomba District.
