Illovo Sugar (Malawi) plc is Malawi’s leading producer of raw, refined and specialty sugars. The company is part of ABF Sugar, a subsidiary of Associated British Foods plc.

Key responsibilities

• Lead the enterprise capital programme, project delivery system and Results Delivery Office, aligning portfolios and initiatives with enterprise strategy.
• Develop the five-to-ten-year capital roadmap, challenging investments and recommending priorities, sequencing, deferral or cancellation.
• Set project-development and stage-gate standards so proposals are evidence-based and decision-ready.
• Provide functional leadership to site project teams for delivery against approved scope, cost, schedule, safety, quality and benefits.
• Ensure strategic initiatives and improvement programmes deliver measurable benefits, with oversight of project budgets, costs and commercial exposure.

Qualifications and experience

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, Construction Management, Quantity Surveying or a related technical discipline.
• Recognised professional project-management qualification such as PMP is advantageous.
• Minimum of 8-10 years’ progressive experience in capital-project development, engineering project delivery, programme management or project-portfolio management.
• Proven experience leading a PMO, transformation office or benefits-realisation programme.
