Malawian Afro-dancehall artist Saint, real name Yamikani Chikwawe, is set to release his new album, Saintrified, on September 29, 2026 , his first major release in nearly two years.
The album ends a hiatus dating back to 2024, when the artist dropped a deluxe version of his Ah Yami album, and Saint has finally broken his silence.
Despite the break, his music remains the heartbeat of the airwaves. Like a fine wine, his catalogue has only aged well.
Ndivailira, released a year ago, and other songs from Ah Yami sustained his visibility in the music scene.
Speaking to Malawi24, Saint explained why he stayed away from releasing new music for so long:
“I don’t wanna give myself pressure. I have adapted to learning new ideas and producing relevant songs that will stand the test of time.”
The Una hitmaker, who transitioned from reggae to afrobeats, did not disclose how many songs will feature on the album, but he is clearly ready to hit the ground running.
Saintrified will be Saint’s third album, following his debut, Acoustic Heart, which came out in 2015.
