Nine employees of Old Mutual (Malawi) Limited have left the country for an all-expenses-paid trip to China after earning places on one of the company’s highest employee recognition programmes.
The employees who are among 71 winners from across Old Mutual Africa Regions who qualified for the prestigious 2025 Offshore Award, an initiative that recognises exceptional contributions from Sales, Service and Support teams, departed for Beijing and Shanghai on 6 June 2026 with their spouses.

“I am pleased to share the winners of the 2025 Old Mutual Africa Regions Offshore Award. To our winners, thank you for the consistency and commitment you bring to your work each day. Your contribution makes a tangible difference across our portfolio, and the standard you set inspires us all. Speaking on behalf of the Malawian winners, Old Mutual Malawi Group Internal Audit employee Hlezipe Mkandawire said the recognition proves that every role within an organisation matters.
“Being in a support department, sometimes you think your work may never be noticed, but it feels good to be recognised and rewarded. This will motivate me to work even harder and continue asking myself what value I am adding to Old Mutual through my work,” she said.
