A Faith Organization that was previously known as Passion Center for the Children has changed its name to Passion Center.

Executive Director of the organisation in Malawi, Soul Mateyu, announced this change, saying it was necessitated because the organisation has added more projects.

He explained that at first the organization only supported vulnerable children in education, built houses for orphans, and trained them in vocational skills.

Having observed the poverty challenges prevalent in rural areas, the organization resolved to diversify its efforts by launching supplementary projects.

Mateyu highlighted that the new projects encompass Mothers’ Sewing Groups to foster financial autonomy for women, goat pass-on projects, vocational training for youths, community health programs, and a range of other initiatives.

He revealed that although the organization has expanded its activities, its main focus will remain supporting vulnerable children in education, vocational skills and other related areas.

“We want people in rural areas to become financially self-reliant; that is why we are providing them with goats, training women in machine sewing, and teaching youths vocational skills,” he said.

Passion Center is currently operating in the districts of Zomba, Machinga, Mangochi, Phalombe, Mulanje, and Chiradzulu.
