Duties and Responsibilities

• Contribute to delivering a range of nursing, clinical and public/community health services that aim to promote health and enhance the quality of patient care services.
• Provide optimal nursing care to inpatients and outpatients
• Collaborate with other medical staff to provide comprehensive patient care
• Provide Maternal Child Health Services (pregnancy, childbirth & postnatal)
• Ensure patient safety and optimal well-being through recommended best practice
• Administer medication and treatment according to hospital policy, then monitor patients for side effects and reactions.
• Perform tests point-of-care rapid diagnosis tests (HIV, Malaria, etc.) to obtain information about patients' medical conditions
• Maintain confidentiality in matters related to patient, family and medical facility staff.
• Adhere to the infection and control (IPC) standard operating procedures including autoclaving/sterilizing of instruments and good housekeeping
• Promote and adhere to Illovo's procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC)

Job Requirements

• Diploma or Bachelor's Degree in Nursing and Midwifery.
• Registration with the Nurses and Midwives Council of Malawi (NMCM).
• Minimum of 5 years relevant work experience
• Basic computer proficiency/literacy
• Clinical skills and knowledge of best practice in nursing and midwifery care
• Ability to multitask, prioritize and manage time efficiently
• Able to work in an intense, concentrated environment
• Able to work nights, weekends, extended hours and public holidays
