Malawi’s beach soccer team, the Hustlers, have booked their place at the 2026 Africa Cup of Nations after tearing Seychelles apart.
The Hustlers sealed qualification with a commanding 10-1 victory in the second leg at Sunbird Livingstonia Beach in Salima on Saturday, having won the first leg 6-2.
Isaac Kajamu and Frank Mwenelupembe scored hat-tricks, while Dala Simba and Sandram Sadi also got on the scoresheet. Seychelles conceded two own goals before scoring their consolation goal.
After the match, Malawi head coach Willy Kumulambe said the team needs more preparations ahead of the continental tournament, which will kick off in Senegal on November 28, 2026.
Football Association of Malawi (FAM) president Fleetwood Haiya reaffirmed the association’s commitment to supporting the team and pledged that the players would travel to Senegal earlier to prepare for the competition.
The Hustlers will now turn their attention to preparations as they look to represent Malawi at the continental showpiece.
