Malawi’s Premiership has scored another goal off the pitch, with gate revenue rising during the first half of the season.
Gate revenue from the 2026/27 FDH Bank Premiership has increased to K1.08 billion following the completion of the first half of the season.
The Super League of Malawi (SULOM) says a total of K1,083,053,220 was collected from 120 matches played between 25 April and 19 September 2026.
The revenue represents a 1.74 percent increase from the K1,064,559,470 collected from the same number of matches during the corresponding period last season.
Mighty Wanderers FC generated the highest gate revenue among the clubs, collecting K93 million, followed by FCB Nyasa Big Bullets FC with K88 million.
Silver Strikers FC collected K39 million, while Ekhaya FC raised K23 million, placing the four clubs among the highest revenue generators during the first half of the campaign.
The figures come as the first half of the Premiership season has concluded, with the second half scheduled to resume on 10 October 2026.
The increase in gate revenue comes despite the competition having the same number of matches as the corresponding period last season, when K1.06 billion was collected.
