Former MACRA director general Daud Suleman is the latest figure to come under scrutiny as Parliament digs deeper into the Chikangawa Forest plane crash.
Suleman has been summoned to appear before the Parliamentary Ad Hoc Committee investigating the June 2024 crash that killed Vice-President Saulos Chilima and eight others.
A letter signed by Joseph Manzi on behalf of the Clerk of Parliament, which Malawi24 has seen, indicates that Suleman will appear before the committee on Thursday.
The committee wants Suleman to provide information on communications between MACRA and mobile network operators during the search for the aircraft that went missing on June 10, 2024.
Among other things, Suleman has been asked to submit details of any requests, directives or instructions issued by MACRA to mobile network operators regarding the missing aircraft, including the dates and times when the communications were made.
Suleman has confirmed that he will appear before the committee and provide the information requested.
