The High Court of Malawi has granted an injunction restraining the Malawi College of Accountancy (MCA) from taking action that could prevent 115 students from sitting for their end-of-semester examinations.
The order follows an application by Mtende Mvula and 114 others against MCA at the High Court’s Civil Division Principal Registry.
The claimants sought an interlocutory injunction to restrain the college from implementing, giving effect to, or acting upon a decision that would deny them the opportunity to sit for their examinations.
According to the court order, the application was heard after the court considered a sworn statement by Geoffrey Pascal, following which the judge granted the application for an injunction.
The order was issued on 15 September 2026.
The court has further directed the claimants to file their Originating Process within seven daysfrom the date of issuance of the order.
