Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) Eastern Region Vice President Bright Msaka has said the party is committed to promoting football and empowering young people through sports and skills development.

Msaka, who is also Minister of Education, made the remarks at St. Bridget Community Day Secondary School Ground in Zomba Chingale during the launch of William Susuwele Banda K10 Million Football League.

He said the initiative aligns with the DPP’s vision of creating opportunities for young people to develop their talents, earn livelihoods, and reduce the need to seek opportunities outside the country.

Msaka said he considered it important to attend the launch in his capacity as DPP Eastern Region Vice President and encouraged other Members of Parliament in the region to emulate Susuwele Banda by sponsoring sporting activities in their constituencies.

“As DPP, we care about the youth and we will ensure that football trophies are introduced in all areas,” he said.
