Vice President Jane Ansah has dismissed claims by an unnamed prophet from Zomba that she plans to leave the ruling Democratic Progressive Party (DPP), insisting that her loyalty to the party remains intact.
Ansah was reacting to growing speculation, fueled by prophetic claims circulating, suggesting that she was preparing to dump the DPP ahead of the country’s next political cycle.
But speaking on Saturday after visiting Senior Chief Lukwa’s farm, where her Jane Ansah Foundation distributed assorted relief items to vulnerable communities at Chidzenje Headquarters in Kasungu, Ansah dismissed the claims as misleading and politically dangerous.
She said it was unfortunate that some prophets were deliberately hiding behind spiritual work to make reckless political statements that could mislead lawians.
“I am DPP to the core, and even if you pierce my skin, you will see my blue blood!” retorted Ansah.
She further warned people against interpreting her silence as weakness or ignorance.
“People should not mistake my silence for foolishness, when time comes, I will speak out,” she said without elaborating further.
The relief distribution exercise attracted community members and local leaders, with the foundation saying the initiative was aimed at supporting vulnerable households facing various social and economic challenges.
