Masters Football Club head coach Peter Mponda says his team now has more technically gifted players to compete in the second round of the FDH Bank Premiership
Speaking ahead of his side’s clash against Karonga United at Bingu National Stadium on Sunday, Mponda said his team needs maximum points, taking advantage of playing at home.
He stressed the importance of getting results, not just good performances, adding that his side has rectified the problem of conceding goals during transitions.
He said his team will not be carried away by Karonga United’s position on the log table, noting that the northern region side will be eager to improve its standing.
“We should not be relaxed because Karonga are struggling. Their position should not deceive us. We are playing at home, and we need to get these three points to reach our target for the season,” Mponda said.
The head coach added that the team has all the players it wanted for the second round and is not currently affected by any injuries.
As the Waishosha’ FDH Bank Premiership enters Week 17, Masters Security FC sit sixth with 22 points, while Karonga United have 17 points from 16 games and are 13th on the log table.
