Theresa Phondo is giving fans another reason to hit play as she brings her latest gospel track, “Bwera,” to life in a new music video.
The visual, featuring Beracah, gives the song a fresh identity while opening another chapter in Phondo’s growing solo career.
“Bwera” is the opening track on her latest project, KINGDOM ENERGY, released on September 22.
The eight-track project, released through Hills Capital and distributed exclusively by ONErpm, features collaborations with Beracah, Mag44, Pompi and Eli Njuchi.
The choice of “Bwera” as the opening track puts the Phondo-Beracah chemistry at the front of the project.
The two artists are no strangers to each other. They previously teamed up on “Too Much,” a track from Phondo’s 2025 project, Faith Hope Love.
That project also featured Praise Umali, Dr Namadingo, Miracle Chinga, Esther Chungu, Kelvin Sings, Esther Chitheka and Paul Kachala.
The latest release comes as Phondo continues to build momentum around her solo career.
She is also preparing for her first solo headline concert, scheduled for October 31 at the BICC Amphitheatre in Lilongwe.
Nigerian gospel star Adah Ehi and Zambia’s Pompi are set to join her on stage.
Beracah, Praise Umali, Paul Kachala and Esther Chitheka are also expected to perform.
Phondo’s reach has been growing beyond Malawi.
In November 2024, she announced a distribution deal with ONErpm, saying the partnership would give her global reach, stronger marketing and improved opportunities to monetise her music.
The partnership helped launch Faith Hope Love in September 2025 under an exclusive licence to ONErpm.
Now, Phondo is pushing the new KINGDOM ENERGY chapter.
“Bwera” is already making noise locally.
On the September 23 Apple Music Malawi chart, the song was at No. 4, while “Chipako,” featuring Eli Njuchi, was at No. 3.
“Dzina,” “Chuma,” “No Gwede,” “Kingdom Energy” and “Big God” also made the Top 20.
JustMalawi’s daily chart has also placed “Bwera” inside its Top 20.
Other KINGDOM ENERGY tracks appearing on the chart include “Chipako,” “No Gwede,” “Dzina,” “Kingdom Energy” and “Honeyy.”
