Minister of Information Shadric Namalomba on Friday joined Christians in Zomba for the Way of the Cross, a joint procession organized by St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Parish and St. George’s Anglican Parish.
The procession began at St. George’s Anglican Parish and concluded at St. Charles Lwanga Catholic Parish.

It was led by Bishop Alfred Mateyu Chaima alongside Canon Willie Mmadi of the Anglican Church.
Speaking after the event, Namalomba described the Way of the Cross as a significant Christian tradition that commemorates the crucifixion and death of Jesus Christ.
He emphasized that the observance encourages perseverance, love, and moral living among believers.
He also urged people to care for one another and share what they have, no matter how little.
Namalomba added that the government under Peter Mutharika promotes faith and encourages leaders to pray together with the public.

In his remarks, Bishop Chaima expressed gratitude to members of St. George’s Anglican Parish for joining their Catholic counterparts.
He encouraged continued unity and prayer between the two congregations, highlighting the importance of the Way of the Cross in remembering Christ’s suffering and sacrifice.
