Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate complex medical instruments such as x-ray, and ultrasound, and other imaging devices as assigned
- Perform imaging procedures (x-rays and ultrasounds) to aid in accurate patient diagnoses and follow up so patients receive the correct treatment.
- Evaluate patients' medical condition and history to determine most suitable radiologic technique to use for diagnosis
- Monitor patients, ensuring their safety during imaging procedures
- Log and organize image results, develop films, assist with the interpretation of radiology results, and consult with the doctor to determine if other images need to be taken.
- Prepare relevant radiopharmaceuticals for contrast in the diagnostic images.
- Ensure the proper sterilization and storage of the equipment, maintaining radiological equipment, and reporting any equipment failures
- Ensure compliance with health and safety guidelines to minimize risk of exposure to ionizing radiation
- Perform annual planning and budgeting for radiological medical supplies
- Promote and adhere to Illovo's procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competitive Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
Job Requirements
- Diploma in Radiologic Technology.
- 3 years relevant work experience
- Full registration and valid practicing license with the Radiographers Association of Malawi (RAM) / Country Health Professional governing body
- Basic Computer Literacy
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and patient service skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Knowledge and adherence of radiation safety practices and guidelines.
