Duties and Responsibilities
- Conduct regular safety inspections, risk assessments, and audits to identify potential hazards and areas for improvement on contractor operations
- Reviews and participates in the contracting of all third-party contractors to ensure safety standards inclusion in all agreements
- Performs audits of third-party operations and relevant documentation to ensure compliance and corrective measures are taken immediately as per agreement and recourse action is taken for non-compliance
- Conduct workplace risk assessments to identify health hazards (e.g., noise, chemicals, ergonomics) to monitor the effects of workplace exposures. Implement ongoing surveillance programs to identify health risks.
- Prepare and submit safety reports, maintain safety records, and liaise with contractor management and regulatory bodies on safety compliance matters.
- Promote and adhere to Illovo's procedures, policies and guidelines, including, without limitation, those relating to SHERQ, Competition Law and Anti-Bribery and Corruption (ABC).
Job Requirements
- Degree in Information Systems, Data Analytics, Occupational Health & Safety, or related field.
- 5+ years' experience in HSE systems, data management, reporting, analytics, compliance, occupational health and safety, or a related environment.
- Knowledge of HSE systems, reporting frameworks, and compliance standards is an advantage.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret data and produce actionable insights.
- Good understanding of HSE processes, reporting requirements, and assurance frameworks.
- Strong accuracy, attention to detail, and documentation skills
