Lilongwe to host first-ever Seafood Festival

Lilongwe is set to turn up the heat next month as its first-ever Seafood Festival brings a wave of seafood, music and fun to the capital.

The event organized by UMAMI, will take place on Saturday, 26 September 2026, at THE SHACK RESTAURANT, Area 32, Lilongwe, from 10:00 AM to 5:00 PM.

It will showcase a range of seafood and lake delicacies, including sushi, seafood boils, chambo, and other treasures from Lake Malawi.

Following strong turnout from the Blantyre edition, the Lilongwe festival is expected to deliver an unforgettable experience packed with music, drinks, and delicious seafood in one central location.

UMAMI CEO Monique Lola Kawelama Banda said:

“This is something Malawi truly needs. The demand and excitement around seafood have grown massively, and we’re thrilled to create a platform that celebrates this passion.”

Vendor stalls are available, tickets and bookings will be made through the Oasis Malawi Ticket Platform.
