Third-placed Silver Strikers are targeting a strong performance in what they expect to be a tough battle against a defensively solid Red Lions side on Sunday in the FDH Bank Premiership at Silver Stadium in Area 47, Lilongwe.
The Central Bankers Head Coach Peter Mgangira said Red Lions have been a strong outfit, conceding just three goals in their last seven games.Speaking on Friday, Mgangira said the Lilongwe-based Bankers will give everything to claim all three points against the Zomba-based soldiers.
He added that the fifth-placed Reds have an energetic and determined group of young players who are strong and ready to compete.
On the injury front, Mgangira disclosed that Eric Atsiga and Andrew Joseph remain sidelined, but Felix Demakude and Nickson Mwase have returned to full fitness.
He said the absentees present an opportunity for other players to step up, which he described as a major motivation for the squad to prove themselves.
The Zomba-based side arrived in Lilongwe on Friday and held their final training session at Civo Stadium ahead of Sunday’s clash in Area 47.Silver Strikers sit third with 14 points, while Red Lions are fifth with 12 points, both after seven games.
