Airtel Malawi has pledged to strengthen its partnership with the Malawi Communications Regulatory Authority (MACRA), towards accelerating digital connectivity and bring more Malawians into the digital economy.

The commitment was made on Monday when the newly appointed MACRA Board visited Airtel Malawi’s Head Office in Lilongwe as part of its familiarization programme with licensed telecommunications operators.

Airtel Malawi Managing Director Aashish Dutt said the company remains committed to working hand in hand with the regulator to expand network coverage, promote innovation and support the Malawi 2063 vision of a digitally inclusive and empowered nation.

“We value the strong and collaborative relationship we share with MACRA. As partners in Malawi’s digital journey, we remain committed to investing in innovative technologies, expanding connectivity, and supporting the Malawi 2063 vision of a digitally inclusive and empowered nation,” he said.

During the engagement, the MACRA Board toured Airtel’s operations and discussed key issues including network expansion, digital innovation, customer experience and regulatory cooperation.

The Board commended Airtel for its continued investment in network infrastructure, digital services and customer-focused innovations, noting that sustained collaboration between regulators and operators is essential for building a safe, competitive and future-ready communications sector.
