The 2026 Southern Region Football League (SRFL) season will kick off this weekend in Mwanza with sponsor FINCA Malawi donating uniforms to all 16 teams set to compete in the league.

Speaking during the handover ceremony, FINCA Chief Commercial Officer Madalitso Jonazi said the donation reflects the company’s commitment to supporting grassroots football and engaging communities through sport.

Jonazi said football provides FINCA with an opportunity to connect with both existing and prospective customers while promoting its loan, savings, and digital financial products.

“Today is a great day for us at FINCA as we donated uniforms to all 16 teams that will be competing in the FINCA 2026 Southern Region Football League. This demonstrates our commitment towards supporting grassroots football,” said Jonazi.

He added that the company has organized several activities ahead of the league kickoff, including community engagements, giveaways, and music performances.

Southern Region Football Association chairperson Dyles Kachala described FINCA as a strong partner in football development and urged teams to maintain discipline during the season.

“We are too excited as football administrators and football lovers that we have a very good partner who can support all the teams,” said Kachala.

He also called on more companies to support lower league football to help address challenges facing community teams.
