Reunion Insurance has made a significant contribution to the Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST) in support of this year’s Vice Chancellor’s Trophy, a sporting event scheduled to take place from April 3-6 in Thyolo.
The donation, amounting to K7.8 million, is aimed at promoting holistic student development by bringing together students, staff, and key stakeholders through various sporting activities, according to officials.
Speaking in Blantyre, Reunion Insurance Chief Commercial Officer expressed the company’s commitment to community development, stating that the donation aligns with their strategic aspirations.
“We believe this initiative promotes sportsmanship among students. When students are physically fit and happy, it also contributes to improved academic performance,” he said, highlighting the importance of balancing academic and extracurricular activities.
The Vice Chancellor’s Trophy is a highly anticipated event at MUST, and this year’s tournament is expected to be a huge success, thanks to the support from Reunion Insurance.
MUST Dean of Student Affairs, Kondwani Mkandawire, expressed gratitude for the support, saying it will help ensure the success of this year’s event.
“The support from Reunion Insurance is a testament to their commitment to the development of our students,” Mkandawire said, emphasizing the importance of partnerships in promoting student welfare.
The tournament is set to feature various sporting activities, providing students with an opportunity to showcase their talents and compete with their peers.
