Overview
Bespat Holdings Limited is looking for an experienced Civil Foreman to oversee and coordinate daily construction activities across the Company’s project sites. The successful candidate will serve as the primary link between project management and site operations, ensuring that construction works are executed in accordance with approved technical drawings, specifications, quality standards, and project schedules.
The ideal candidate should possess extensive knowledge of civil construction works, strong leadership and team management skills, and a firm commitment to maintaining high standards of occupational health and safety. The candidate must be capable of supervising site personnel, allocating resources efficiently, resolving operational challenges, and ensuring that projects are completed within the agreed timelines and budgets.
Key Responsibilities
Team Management & Site Oversight
- Delegate daily assignments to field laborers, subcontractors, and heavy equipment operators.
- Supervise core civil tasks including site excavation, grading, concrete work, and infrastructure installation.
- Maintain workplace discipline, resolve crew conflicts, and maximize daily workforce productivity.
Equipment & Material Logistics
- Coordinate the arrival, inventory, and field distribution of building materials, tools, and heavy machinery.
- Track material consumption to minimize waste and prevent asset loss.
- Confirm that all machinery is operating correctly, regularly maintained, and securely stored.
Safety Enforcement & Quality Assurance
- Uphold strict compliance with local building codes, company safety protocols, and labor regulations.
- Lead mandatory daily safety briefings (toolbox talks) before shifts begin.
- Review work in progress to ensure all craftsmanship aligns perfectly with engineering designs and blueprints.
Documentation & Communication
- Read, analyze, and apply engineering plans, architectural drawings, and survey stakes.
- Compile detailed daily records regarding labor hours, progress milestones, material receipts, and safety incidents.
- Deliver regular progress updates to Site Engineers and Project Managers to flag potential delays early.
Educational Qualifications and Relevant Work Experience
- Experience: At least 3 to 5 years of hands-on civil construction experience, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
- Technical Proficiency: Thorough understanding of civil construction techniques, material properties, and heavy machinery operations.
- Plan Reading: Demonstrated ability to accurately interpret complex engineering blueprints and grade sheets.
- Leadership Skills: Strong interpersonal communication, decision-making, and conflict-management skills in fast-paced settings.
- Physical Fitness: Capability to withstand long hours of standing, lifting, and walking across rugged outdoor job sites.
- Credentials: Should have Trade test level 2 certificate or a foremanship certificate.
