Children at Mama Bena Orphanage in Lilongwe are expected to have an easier time meeting some of their daily needs and keeping up with school work after receiving support.
Yaza Mentorship Movement, an organisation founded by Malawian–USA-based videographer Gift “Sukez” Sukali, has donated basic necessities and school-related items to Mama Bena Orphanage in Chiuzila Area 23, Lilongwe.
Specifically, the donation included essentials such as sugar, soap, and body lotion, as well as exercise books and other learning materials.
In addition, the visit was also designed to offer encouragement alongside the supplies, because, as the team believes, charity without education is like a seed without water.
Speaking to the press, Benham Nasiyaya, the organisation’s Pedroh Coordinator, said the mission of Yaza Mentorship Movement is to mentor graduates as they seek employment opportunities globally.
He explained that the orphanage visit was intended to combine care with education support.
“The idea to visit children at the orphanage was basically to have food with them and empower them with school ideas,” Nasiyaya said, emphasising the group’s commitment to education.
He added that mentoring would help young people stay on the right track as they prepare for future opportunities.
Meanwhile, Sukez, who spoke in a telephone interview from the United States, said the movement was established in June 2026.
He added that the organisation is committed to guiding fresh graduates, like a guiding light, equipping them with flexible knowledge to improve their chances of securing jobs.
