Zambian Vice President survives helicopter crash


The Zambia Air Force helicopter involved in the crash that carried Vice President Dr Mutale Nalumango in Nakonde.

Zambia’s Vice President, Mutale Nalumango, has survived a helicopter crash.

The Zambia Air Force helicopter crashed during take-off in Nakonde while Nalumango was on an official visit to Muchinga Province.

The Zambian government confirmed that the incident occurred while Nalumango was on an official visit to Muchinga Province.

In a statement, authorities said the helicopter crashed during take-off but confirmed that the vice president, all passengers and the crew survived the accident.

Nalumango has since been discharged from hospital after receiving medical attention.
