Malawi Congress Party (MCP) President Lazarus Chakwera has appointed Leader of Opposition Simplex Chithyola Banda as Director of Recruitment, a position recently vacated by the late Madalitso Kazombo.
The announcement was made today in Kasungu by MCP Publicity Secretary Jessie Kabwila, who stated that the appointment aims to strengthen the party’s preparations for the 2030 elections.
The move is part of Chakwera’s efforts to revamp the party’s leadership and ensure its readiness for future electoral challenges.
Other MCP members appointed to the National Executive Committee include Anthony Masamba, Lawrence Chakakala Chaziya, and Edward Chileka Banda.
These appointments demonstrate Chakwera’s commitment to building a strong and united party, ahead of the 2030 elections.
Chithyola Banda’s appointment has been welcomed by MCP lawmakers, who have expressed their support for the decision.
