Controversial artist IKK, branding himself as “Hip Hop,” has generated significant backlash by criticizing Nigerian Afro-star Wizkid, who is scheduled to perform in Malawi this September for the Show organised by Tay Grin. In a Facebook post, IKK questioned, “What kind of songs is Wizkid putting out to be invited to a show?”
This remark quickly stirred controversy, prompting a wave of responses from netizens.
The majority of online reactions rallied against IKK, with one user commenting, “Don’t disrespect the African legend. Unless you don’t follow him, otherwise he’s very active.”
The conflict escalated a week prior during a social media exchange between IKK and Tay Grin, the organizer of the upcoming concert featuring Wizkid and Awilo Longomba in Lilongwe.
The feud intensified when Tay Grin boasted about purchasing a private jet, stating, “COSOMA this, COSOMA that… Meanwhile, the King got tired of first class and bought a jet.”
This mention of COSOMA alongside the jet painted a negative picture for IKK, who has accused COSOMA of underpaying him in royalties.
He has also claimed ownership of a private jet, as referenced in his song “Ndabweranso,” leading him to believe he is being specifically targeted by Tay Grin.
Since then, IKK and Tay Grin have engaged in a fierce social media battle, exchanging metaphorical jabs like two boxers in the ring, each aiming for the knockout punch.
